Every service at Cornerstone begins with the Word of God being read. We believe that the Bible is the foundation for life; therefore, we along with the Psalmist believe “for thou hast magnified thy word aboveallthyname.” We give great attention to Scripture reading and memorisation of great Bible passages.
Refreshing Music:
The Scripture states in Psalm 95:1 “O come, letussing unto the LORD: letus make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” The worship services are filled with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs. We also have members that sing solos and groups that sing as well. The congregation is encouraged to participate in the singing time. We use a blend of psalms, hymns, and choruses that magnify Christ and worship Him alone!
Practical Bible Preaching:
The most important thing that we do at Cornerstone is to declare the Word of God as it is to men and women as they are. Without apology, we believe the Bible is the literal Word of God and we preach and teach it as such. Pastor John expounds a passage of Scripture each time we meet and applies it to every day life.
The Sunday morning preaching service is a relevant Bible message that can be applied to every day living.
The Sunday afternoon Bible teaching time is geared towards equipping believers and teaching great Bible truths for life.
The Wednesday Evening Bible Study is an in-depth study of a book, topic, character, or doctrine from the Word of God.
Each service, Pastor John provides notes and visual aid to assist in the understanding of Scripture.
Prayer:
During each service at Cornerstone, there is a time of prayer where we have an opportunity to pour out our hearts to God and contemplate His Word and direction for our lives. Some of the most wonderful times in our church services are the times when we pray together as a church for one another and our community.
Giving:
Each service we receive an offering to help and assist the work of God through this church. As a guest at Cornerstone, we do not invite you to attend our services in order to give, we want the services to be our gift to you! Many of our members and regular attendees do give in the offering in order to help the work move forward.
Fellowship:
We have a time of greeting and fellowship during the worship services. We take a few moments to greet one another and to let our guests know how glad we are that they are attending our services.
